Walkthrough: Install Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0

To install Internet Information Services 7.0

  1. Log on to the computer as a member of the Administrators group.
  2. In Server Manager, expand Roles and then click Add Roles.
  3. In the Add Roles Wizard, on the Before You Begin page, click Next.
  4. On the Select Server Roles page, select Web Server (IIS) and then click Next.
  5. On the Select Role Services page, make sure that each of the following items have been selected and then click Next:
    • Static Content
    • Default Document
    • Directory Browsing
    • HTTP Errors
    • HTTP Redirection
    • ASP.NET
    • .NET Extensibility
    • Internet Server API (ISAPI) Extensions
    • ISAPI Filters
    • HTTP Logging
    • Logging Tools
    • Request Monitor
    • Tracing
    • Basic Authentication
    • Windows Authentication
    • Request Filtering
    • Static Content Compression
    • IIS Management Console
    • IIS Management Scripts and Tools
    • IIS Management Compatibility
    • IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility
    • IIS 6 WMI Compatibility
  6. On the Confirm Installation Selections page, click Install.
  7. On the Installation Results page click Close to close the Add Roles Wizard.
