Set up file formats for the export of a traditional financial statement

Follow these steps if file formats are not available for selection in the File format field on the Export to tab of the Financial statement form, or if the file format that you want to use is not listed.

This topic includes information about features that were added or changed for cumulative update 6 or later for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2. This information also applies to AX 2012 R3.

To print financial statements, you can use Management Reporter, or you can use the traditional financial statements that are included with Microsoft Dynamics AX. For more information about printing financial statements using Management Reporter, see Management Reporter for Microsoft Dynamics ERP.

The Financial statement form is available only when the Financial statement (traditional) configuration key is selected.

  1. Click General ledger > Reports > Transactions > Financial statement (traditional).

  2. In the Output type field, select Export to. The Export to tab is displayed.

  3. On the Export to tab, click Setup.

  4. In the Available pane of the File format for the export of the financial statement form, select the relevant file format, and then click the arrow button (<) to move the file format to the Selected pane.

    Alternatively, click the double-arrow button (<<) to move all the file formats to the Selected pane.

  5. Close the form. The file formats that you selected are available in the File format field on the Export to tab.
