When an item is configured for a customer who has a default value set up, the configuration session’s user dialog box will be populated with any default values that apply. Default values are suggestions, not rules. The user can overwrite them with other values when needed.

Note

This information applies only to Product builder.

Customer and item specific default values can be created for any modeling variable. Click Product information management > Setup > Product builder > Defaults > Default values.

Default values can be specified for each modeling variable, and the default values can be made specific to selected customers or customer groups, and to selected items or item groups.

In the upper section of the Default values form, the specific customer and item combination is described. In the lower section, the default values for the selected customer and item combination can be set up for any modeling variable.

The customer and item combination can be set up through two kinds of groups: item product model groups and customer product model groups.
