Cost accounting budget model (form)

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Cost accounting > Setup > Budget model.

Use this form to create, manage, and view your different budget models. Within the cost accounting module, the following budget model types are available:

  • Forecast model is invalid..

  • Ledger budget.

  • Flexible budgeting.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

View additional information about the selected budget model.

Submodel

Add submodels to the selected budget model.

Note

Submodels must be created as budget models before they can be attached to a budget model. You cannot enter as a submodel any budget model that is defined with submodels.

Cost category setup

Create, manage, or view the control of cost categories that you want to plan in the flexible budget.

Dimension setup

Create, manage, or view the control of dimensions that you want to plan in the flexible budget.

Budget model

Enter or view a budget model identification number.

Description

Enter or view a short description of the budget model.

Budget model type

Select or view the budget model type.

Stopped

Use this check box to lock the budget model for changes.

Ledger budget

Select or view a ledger budget model.

Note

This field is only active when you select Ledger budget in the Budget model type field.

Line structure

Select or view a line structure.

Note

This field is only active when you select Flexible budgeting in the Budget model type field.

Check dimensions

If you select this check box, you can use the Dimension setup button to enter dimensions that you want to plan in the flexible budget. If this check box is cleared, dimensions are displayed here automatically as you use them in the flexible budget.
