Change passwords for Office Project Server Queue Service

Use this procedure to change the password for the Microsoft Office Project Server Queue service used by Microsoft Office Project Server 2007. This service is used to run the Queue system that manages all job requests for Project Server services.

Note

This procedure can be performed only after the password has been changed on the domain controller. The credentials entered are checked against those on the domain controller. If you enter the new password before the password has been changed on the domain controller, an error will result and the settings will not be changed.

Note

You must change the password for the Microsoft Office Project Server Queue service on all application servers in the farm.

Change the password for the Microsoft Office Project Server Queue service

  1. In the Services snap-in in the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), right-click Microsoft Office Project Server Queue Service, and then click Properties.

  2. In the Properties dialog box, on the Logon tab, type a new password in the Password and Confirm password boxes. Click OK.

  3. You must restart the service for the changes to be saved. On the Services page, right-click the Microsoft Office Project Server Queue Service, and then click Restart.
