Install Microsoft Dynamics AX (upgrade)

You must install Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 on a new server computer before completing the upgrade from Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 or Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009. For complete installation instructions, refer to the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Installation Guide.
Important
Be sure to select Register database for upgrade as an option during installation.
