View booking details (form) [AX 2012]

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2

Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > All projects. Open a project for which role assignments have been made. On the Project team and scheduling FastTab, select one or more lines for role assignments. Depending on the version of Microsoft Dynamics AX you are using, do one of the following:

  • In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3: Click View booking details.

  • In cumulative update 7 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2: Click View reservation details.

Click Project management and accounting > Common > Project resources > Resources. On the Action Pane, on the Project resource tab, in the Reserve group, click one of the following buttons, depending on the version of Microsoft Dynamics AX you are using:

  • In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3: Click Booking details.

  • In cumulative update 7 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2: Click Reservation details.

When this form is opened from the Resources list page, it is called Booking details form.

Use this form to review the details about worker reservations on a specific project. You can see whether a worker is soft-booked or hard-booked for a project, the company the worker is employed by, and the worker’s cost price.

The form provides two ways for you to view a worker’s availability. By default, the grid in the form uses colors to indicate workers’ available capacity. You can also choose to add text descriptions of availability status to the cells in the grid.

The following table indicates the meaning of each color that is used in the grid.

Description

Start date and End date

Specify the date range for which you want to review worker reservation details.

Format for date range view

Select the unit of time for which to view details about worker reservations, such as Weeks.

Convert selected soft-booked hours to hard-booked hours.

Cancel reservation

Release workers from the hard booking or soft booking reservations that are represented by the selected cells in the grid.

Display availability descriptions

This control is available only if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Select this check box to display text descriptions of worker availability in the schedule grid.

Worker 
(Available only when the form is opened from the Projects form)

The name of the worker whose time has been reserved for the project.

ID 
(Available only when the form is opened from the Resources list page)

The identifier of the project or quotation for which booking hours are being viewed.

Project or quotation name 
(Available only when the form is opened from the Resources list page)

The name of the project or quotation for which booking hours are being viewed.

Booking type

An indication of whether the worker has been tentatively assigned (soft booked) or firmly committed (hard booked) to the project.

Legal entity 
(Available only when the form is opened from the Projects form)

The entity that employs the worker.

Cost price 
(Available only when the form is opened from the Projects form)

The worker’s current hourly cost rate.

Project manager or sales responsible 
(Available only when the form is opened from the Resources list page)

The name of the worker who is responsible for the project or quotation.

Customer 
(Available only when the form is opened from the Resources list page)

The customer that is associated with the project or quotation.
