Employee variable compensation awards (form)

Click Human resources > Common > Workers > Workers. In the Action Pane, on the Compensation tab, click Variable plan awards.
Use this form to view or update variable compensation awards for an employee.
Note
Variable compensation awards can also be calculated automatically during a process event. You can use the Variable compensation enrollment form to enroll employees in a variable award plan that is calculated automatically.
Navigating the form
The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.
Fields
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Variable plan |
Select the variable compensation plan associated with the award. |
Variable compensation type |
The award type that is associated with the selected variable compensation plan. |
Award date |
The date of the award. |
Award type |
When you manually enter the award, the award type is always General award. When an event process is run, this information can change to Lump sum fixed pay, based on the event process setup. |
Process type |
When you manually enter the award, the award type is always Non-cyclical. When an event process is run, this information can change, based on the event process setup. |
Plan |
Select the fixed compensation plan that is used as a basis for the calculation of the award. |
Number of units |
Enter the number of units, such as stock options, to be awarded. For cash awards, this value is the value of the total award. |
Unit value |
Enter the value of one unit. For cash awards this value is always 1. |
Unit currency |
Select the currency that the unit value is expressed in. |
Vesting rule |
The vesting rule selected for the variable compensation plan. The vesting rules specify the portion and timing of when a long-term award, such as a stock option, becomes available to the employee. |
Pay group |
Select a pay group to use for sending compensation data to payroll. |
Default financial dimensions |
The default financial dimensions for the main account. When you select a financial dimension value, the Where the %1 dimension is used field group displays where the dimension is used in account structures and advanced rule structures. |
Where the %1 dimension is used |
The account structures and advanced rule structures that use the financial dimensions that you selected in the Financial dimensions or Default financial dimensions field group. Note The name of the field depends on the selection in the Financial dimensions or Default financial dimensions field group. |
