(POL) Set up a warehouse for an external inventory

You can use the Warehouses form to set up the warehouses that are used in the external inventory system.

Note

This topic has not been fully updated for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2.

  1. Click Inventory management > Setup > Inventory breakdown > Warehouses.

  2. In the Warehouses form, in the Warehouse field, enter an identification number for the location.

  3. On the General tab, in the Type field, select the External Inventory warehouse type.

  4. In the Vendor account field, select the vendor account that is associated with the external inventory warehouse.

  5. Enter the remaining details for the location. For more information about how to complete the details, see Warehouses (form).

  6. Press CTRL+S or close the form.
