Online store (form)

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2

Click Retail > Common > Retail channels > Online stores. In the Online stores list, open an online store. To create a new store, on the Action Pane, on the Channel tab, in the New group, click Online store.

Use this form to create and maintain an online store. Online stores are a type of retail channel that can be published to a Microsoft SharePoint site. After you enter the details about the online store and publish it, you can create a retail product catalog and publish it to the online store. In the online store, customers can browse for products that are included in the catalog, add them to a shopping cart, and check out.

Enter the details for the online store, such as the online store name, company, warehouse, and category hierarchy.

Select options to enable payment processing for transactions that are received through the online store.

Select the languages that can be displayed in the online store. You can also indicate the language that is displayed by default.

Financial dimensions

View information about financial dimensions, such as the default dimensions and where the dimensions are used in account structures and advanced rule structures.

Tax information

Specify tax information for the online store.

Online store

Create an online store.

Publish

Publish the online store to a SharePoint site. This action generates the navigation hierarchy for the online store.

An online store must be published before you can publish retail product catalogs to the online store.

View assortments

Open the View assortments list page, where you can view the list of assortments that are assigned to the online store.

Catalogs

Open the Catalogs form to view the list of retail product catalogs that are assigned to the online store.

View assortment products

Open the Products list page, where you can view all the products in all the assortments that are assigned to the online store.

Listings

Open the Listings form, where you can view the list of retail products that have been published from the catalog to the online store. You can also view the product listing status.

Price groups

Open the Retail channel price groups form to view, add, or remove the price groups that are assigned to the online store. The price groups define the trade agreements and promotions that apply to the online store.

Price list

In AX 2012 R3, this button is called Pricing.

Open the Price list form to view the prices, price adjustments, and discounts of all the products that are assigned to the online store.

Loyalty schemes

View the loyalty schemes that are assigned to the store.

This control is available only if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Channel attributes

Open the Channel attribute groups form to view or add attribute groups to the online store. Channel attributes are used when the online store is published. For example, a channel attribute might include a PayPal address or an IP address for the online store.

Channel product attributes

Open the Channel product attribute group form to view or add product-specific attributes to the online store. Channel product attributes are applied to the product listings when they are generated during the process of publishing the retail product catalog.

This control is not available if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Sales order attributes

Open the Channel attribute groups form to view or add attributes that are specific to sales orders. Sales-order attributes are applied to sales orders that are generated from the online store.

For example, you can add a sales order attribute for a gift box. When the sales order is generated, and the gift box is selected, the information for the gift box attribute is included on the sales order.

Store product attributes

Open the Channel product attributes form, where you can maintain attributes for products that are offered in an online store. You can add, modify, or remove product attributes, attribute values, and attribute metadata for any category in a retail product hierarchy that is assigned to the store.

Use the publishing feature for catalogs to upload the new channel attribute values for products that are offered in online stores.

This control is available only if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Map attributes

Open the Map attributes form. For each category in the online store, select the options that apply to the category or channel product attributes. For example, you can select whether attributes are required, can be used for search, and can be used as a filter in the online store.

In AX 2012 R3, the name of the Map attributes form is Set attribute metadata. To open this form, in the Online store form, on the Set up tab, click Store product attributes. In the Channel product attributes form, on the Setup tab, click Set attribute metadata.

Modes of delivery

Open the Modes of delivery form to view or select the delivery methods that are offered by the online store.

Payment methods

Open the Payment method form to view or select the payment methods that are accepted by the online store, such as credit cards and PayPal.

Store locator group assignment

Open the Store locator group assignment form to assign the online store to a store locator group. Use store locator groups to direct customers to locations where products are available, based on the online store where a product inquiry is made.

Distribution locations

Open the Distribution locations form to set up the links between the online store in Microsoft Dynamics AX and the database that you use to publish the online store.

Channel database

Open the Channel database form to set up the links between the online store in Microsoft Dynamics AX and the database that you use to publish the online store.

This control is available only if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Fields

Description

Operating unit number

The operating unit number that is assigned to the online store. This number can be used to reference the online store when it is deployed to SharePoint.

If number sequences are set up, this number can be automatically assigned to the store.

This control is available only if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Legal entity

The company that the store belongs to.

This control is available only if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Warehouse

The warehouse in Microsoft Dynamics AX from which products are shipped or sourced for the online store.

Search name

Enter the store name that is displayed when a user searches for the store online.

Publishing status

The publishing status for the online store. The following values can be displayed:

  • Draft – The store has not been published, and details about the online store can be modified.

  • In progress – The online store has been submitted for publishing. The store details cannot be modified.

  • Published – The online store has been published to a SharePoint site. The category navigation has been created for the online store and retail product catalogs can be published to the online store.

  • Failed – An error has occurred and the publishing process could not be completed.

Publishing status message

A message that provides details about the status for the online store publishing process.

Category hierarchy

Select the category hierarchy to assign to the online store. The category hierarchy determines the navigation structure that is displayed in the online store. Any product attributes that are defined for the categories in the hierarchy are also included in the online store categories.

Note

Online stores must be assigned to a category hierarchy that is assigned to the Retail channel navigation hierarchy category hierarchy type.

In AX 2012 R3, the Category hierarchy field is located in the Channel product attributes form, on the General FastTab. To open this form, in the Online store form, on the Set up tab, click Store product attributes.

Currency

Select the currency that is accepted by default in the online store.

Default customer

Select the default customer for the online store. This customer can be used as a template to supply the shipping address and other transaction information if a new customer, who is not yet registered as a customer in the store, is added to an online transaction. When the customer is authenticated for the online store, any values that appear by default can be modified.

Customer address book

The address book that includes customers that are created in the online store.

Real-time Service profile

Select the transaction service profile that the online store uses to access the Application Object Server (AOS) to retrieve or update information in real time.

Channel profile

Select the channel profile for the online store. The channel profile contains the URL of the publishing site collection and the URL of the catalog site collection for the online store. This field is optional.

This control is available only if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Live channel database

Select the database for the channel that is currently active. This field is optional.

This control is available only if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Prices include sales tax

Select this check box to indicate that prices on the online store include sales tax or value added-tax (VAT).

Sales tax group for inter-state transactions

Specify the sales tax group that is used for transactions for which the origin and delivery addresses are in two different states.

Display tax amount per tax component

Select this check box to indicate that the tax amount must be displayed for each tax component.

Email notification profile

Select the profile that contains the email message templates that are used to communicate with customers at different points in the sales process for the online store.

Connectors

Select the payment connector that is used to connect to the payment provider.

Details

Enter configuration details to enable payment processing for transactions that are received through the online store.

Language

Select the languages that are displayed in the online store.

Default

Select the check box to indicate the language that is displayed by default in the online store.

Default financial dimensions

The default financial dimensions for the main account. When you select a financial dimension value, the Where the %1 dimension is used field group displays where the dimension is used in account structures and advanced rule structures.

Warehouse address

(IND) The address of the legal entity’s warehouse.

Registration number

(IND) The Central Sales Tax (CST) registration number of the legal entity.

Tax Identification Number (TIN)

(IND) The VAT identification number of the legal entity.

STC number

(IND) The service tax registration number of the legal entity.
