NNTP Server Object

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

The NNTP Server performance object monitors posting, authentication, and connection activity on a Network News Transport Protocol (NNTP) Server. The NNTP service is an optional component of Internet Information Services (IIS).

NNTP counters are started for each virtual server instance and are reset to zero when the virtual server is started. A single NNTP service can have many virtual servers (also called sites).

In addition to monitoring these counters, it is recommended that you also monitor the system counters Physical Disk Object, Physical Disk Object, Physical Disk Object, and Processor Object.
