Perform a UDDI Services Upgrade

If you plan to upgrade your operating system from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008, you must also upgrade UDDI Services.

The following UDDI Services upgrade scenarios are supported:

  • Upgrading from a stand-alone installation running on Windows Server 2003

  • Upgrading from a distributed installation consisting of exactly one database and at least one Web application—all running on Windows Server 2003

During the operating system upgrade process, you uninstall all non-Windows applications, and then you reinstall them after the upgrade. For example, if you are running SQL Server, you uninstall it during the operating system upgrade and then reinstall it after the operating system upgrade is complete.

Membership in Administrators, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete the upgrade. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477.

Note

You install the UDDI Services Database in a distributed environment on a computer running Windows Server 2008 Datacenter or Windows Server 2008 Enterprise.
