Enable Secured Remote Read

Use this procedure to enable secured remote read for Message Queuing.

You can use this procedure to enable secured remote read for Message Queuing. Secure remote read enforces access to Message Queuing queues with an encrypted channel and requires domain credentials.

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.

To enable secured remote read for Message Queuing

  1. Click Start, point to Run, type compmgmt.msc, and press ENTER to display the Computer Management MMC console.

  2. In the console tree, click Services and Applications.

  3. In the details pane, right-click Message Queuing, and then click Properties.

  4. On the Server Security tab, select Enable secured remote receiving. In this mode, only servers running Windows Server 2003 or later can receive messages remotely from queues on this computer, and then click OK

Additional considerations

  • To reset server security settings on this tab to the default settings following installation, click Restore Defaults.
