Add a Site Link Object

You can use this procedure to add a site link object.

Membership in Administrators, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

  1. Open Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) Edit, and connect and bind to the configuration directory partition of an Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) instance in the configuration set for which you want to create a site link. For more information, see Manage an AD LDS Instance Using ADSI Edit.

  2. In the console tree, double-click the configuration directory partition, double-click the sites container (CN=Sites), and then double-click the Inter-Site Transports container (CN=Inter-Site Transports).

  3. In the Inter-Site Transports container, right-click the IP container (CN=IP), point to New, and then click Object.

  4. In Select a class, click siteLink, and then click Next.

  5. In Value, type a name for the common name (CN) of the new site link object, and then click Next.

  6. In Value, type a distinguished name of a site to be placed in the site link object, and then click Next.

  7. To set more attributes on the site link object, click More attributes.

  8. To create the new site link object, click Finish.
