Planning Redundancy for a NAP Remediation Server

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Vista

To provide redundancy in your remediation server design, allow noncompliant client access to multiple remediation servers and configure redundancy in the same way it is configured on the corporate network. The methods used to provide redundancy will depend on the type of remediation server.

You might allow noncompliant NAP client computers access to remediation servers on the corporate network that are also used by compliant NAP client computers. In this case, you can use the redundancy plan that is in place for the corporate network. If remediation servers are used exclusively or to a higher degree by noncompliant NAP clients, then consider the impact on remediation servers when you deploy new health requirements.
