Configure the NAP Client User Interface in Group Policy

To configure NAP client user interface settings in Group Policy, configure a NAP client Group Policy object (GPO) and apply this GPO to a NAP client security group with security group filtering. Membership in the local Domain Admins group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

Configure NAP client user interface settings in Group Policy

Use the following procedure to deploy custom user interfaces settings to NAP client computers using Group Policy.

To configure NAP client user interface settings

  1. On a domain controller or member server with the Group Policy Management feature installed, click Start, click Run, type gpmc.msc, and then press ENTER.

  2. In the Group Policy Management console tree, open Group Policy Objects, right-click the name of the GPO you want to edit, and then click Edit. The Group Policy Management Editor opens.

  3. In the Group Policy Management Editor tree, open Computer Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Network Access Protection\NAP Client Configuration\User Interface Settings.

  4. In the details pane, double-click User Interface Settings.

  5. To specify a custom title, under Title, type the title.

  6. To specify a custom description, under Description, type the description.

Note

To display custom title and text, client computers must be using the same language that is used on the server, or they must have the appropriate language interface pack installed.

  1. To specify a custom image, click Browse, browse to an image, and then click Open. The image file must be 64 × 64 pixels or smaller in size; it must be must be in .bmp, .jpg, or .gif format.

  2. When you are finished, click OK.
