Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2

Use this wizard page to configure the way in which the RRAS server provides IP addresses to virtual private network (VPN) and dial-up remote access clients.

Option Description

Automatically

Select this option to specify that the RRAS server uses a DHCP server to assign Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) and Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) addresses to remote access VPN and dial-up network clients. To specify the DHCP servers that are used, you must enable and configure the DHCP Relay Agent. For more information, see IPv4 - DHCP Relay Agent or IPv6 - DHCPv6 Relay Agent. For more information about how RRAS and DHCP work together, see RRAS and DHCP.

From a specified range of addresses

Select this option to specify that the RRAS server provides an address from a static pool of addresses. You configure these addresses by using the Address Range Assignment wizard page.
