Provide network access to remote employees that use traditional telephone lines and modems

To accomplish this goal, you need to deploy one or more dial-up servers using the Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS). For more information, see Deploying Dial-up and VPN Remote Access Servers at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=202997.

Provide low cost, unprotected network access to remote employees that use high speed Internet connections

To accomplish this goal, you need to deploy one or more virtual private network (VPN) servers using the Routing and Remote Access service (RRAS) and Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP). For more information, see Routing and Remote Access Service at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=153482.

Provide protected network access to remote employees that use high speed Internet connections

For more information, see Checklist: Installing and Configuring an RRAS VPN Server at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=193987.

Provide always-on, protected network access to remote employees that use high speed Internet connections, with the added benefit of your ability to manage the remote computers all the time
