System Center 2012 Configuration Manager SP1 helps IT empower people to use the devices and applications they need to be productive while maintaining corporate compliance and control. It provides a unified management infrastructure across physical, virtual, and mobile client environments. With the SP1 release, Configuration Manager adds support for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 among many other great new features.
System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection SP1 (previously known as Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010) protects client and server operating systems against the latest threats using industry-leading malware detection technologies. It is built on System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, giving customers a unified infrastructure for client security and compliance management.
With the SP1 release, Configuration Manager adds support for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, serves as a distribution point for Windows Azure, extends management to Windows Embedded devices like thin clients and kiosks, and also manages Mac OS X client and Linux and Unix Servers. The SP1 release also delivers interoperability with Windows Intune, enabling you to manage Windows RT, Windows Phone 8, iOS, and other devices in the same console that you manage the rest of your client infrastructure.
