Chart Options Dialog Box (Y Axis Tab) (Report Builder)

Define the appearance of the y-axis of the chart.

Options

  • Show labels
    Select to display labels on the axis. Click the Font button to edit the style of the text.
  • Font
    Click to launch the Format dialog box to format the label font.
  • Side margins
    Select to use padding between the chart elements and the sides of the chart.
  • Interlaced strips
    Select to display alternating light and dark areas between gridlines.
  • Reversed
    Select to reverse the direction of the chart. For example, by default, a column chart displays the y-axis on the left side of the chart and categories from left to right. When this option is selected, the chart displays the y-axis on the right side of the chart and categories from right to left.
  • Logarithmic scale
    Select to indicate that the x-axis scale is logarithmic.
  • Numeric or time-scale values
    Select to indicate that the values on the x-axis are scalar values. If selected, the chart displays the values on the axis on a scale, that is, the chart fills in the numbers or dates that are "missing" from the dataset.
  • Show major gridlines
    Select to display major gridlines in the chart. Click the Format button to edit the style of the lines.
  • Interval
    Type an interval at which the major gridlines appear. If omitted, the gridlines are divided evenly on the chart.
  • Tick mark
    Select the position of the major tick marks on the x-axis.
  • Format
    Click to launch the Format dialog box with the Line tab selected.
  • Show minor gridlines
    Select to display minor gridlines in the chart. Click the Format button to edit the style of the lines.
  • Interval
    Type an interval at which the minor gridlines appear. If omitted, the gridlines are divided evenly on the chart.
  • Tick mark
    Select the position of the minor tick marks on the x-axis.
  • Format
    Click to launch the Format dialog box with the Line tab selected.
  • Scale
    Provides information about the scale to use in the chart.
  • Minimum
    Type the minimum value for the x-axis. If omitted, the minimum value is determined by the data returned by the dataset.
  • Maximum
    Type the maximum value for the x-axis. If omitted, the maximum value is determined by the data returned by the dataset.
  • Cross at
    Type the value at which to cross the y-axis. If omitted, the value is determined by the chart type.
