Linear Scale Properties Dialog Box, Labels

Select Labels on the Linear Scale Properties dialog box to define the appearance of labels on the scale of a linear gauge.

Options

  • Hide scale labels
Select this option to hide all labels from appearing on the scale.

  • Show labels at the end of scale
Select this option to show the labels on the ends of the scale.

  • Placement
Select a value or type an expression that represents the placement of the labels.

    • Outside   Display the labels on the outside of the scale, farther from the pointer.

    • Inside   Display the labels on the inside of the scale, closer to the pointer.

    • Cross   Display the labels across the scale.

  • Distance from scale
Type a value or expression that represents how far, in pixels, the labels are positioned from the scale. By default, this value is 0, which positions labels optimally on the scale.

  • Label interval
Type an integer or expression that represents the interval at which labels are shown. For example, if you set the label interval to 45, labels are shown at 0, 45, 90, and so on.

The label interval differs from the gauge interval, which is set on the Major Tick Marks page. The gauge interval determines the interval at which major tick marks are displayed on the gauge.

  • Label interval offset
Type a value or expression that represents an interval offset for labels on a gauge. An interval offset is a constant that moves all values on the scale by that value. For example, suppose your gauge calculates your intervals to be 0, 10, 20, 30 and so on. When you set a label interval offset of 7, the scale will show values of 7, 17, 27, 37, and so on.
