How to Change the Project-Level Authentication Account for a Staging Project

This topic provides steps for changing the project-level authentication account for a staging project. You add this account to override the default authentication account. You change the authentication account if you want to use a different account than the one specified during setup. Make sure that the account has the appropriate permissions and matches an account that has the same permissions on all the servers involved in the staging project.

Note

Project-level authentication accounts must be members of the CSS Administrators or CSS Operators groups on the CSS servers where the project is staged. Also, if you use the project to replicate business data, the account must be granted database access permissions. For information about how to grant database access permissions, see What Database Access Permissions Must You Grant to CSS Authentication Accounts?
