New Product Definition Screen
Use the New Product Definition screen to add a product definition. A product definition specifies the properties for a particular type of product. For example, an online music retailer would create a product definition for the product Compact Discs.

Type a name for the new product definition. |

Type a description for the new product definition. |
Available Properties |
Select the property or properties you want for the new product definition from the Available Properties list, and then click Add to move those properties to the Assigned Product Properties box. If the new product has variants, select the property or properties you want from the Available Properties list, and then click Add. .gif "Note") Note:
Do not add any properties that will be used as product IDs as a product variant property.
The order in which the properties appear in the Assigned Product Properties box is also the order in which the properties will display in the catalog. |
Move Up or Move Down |
Click to change the order of the properties. Select the property you want to move, and then click either Move Up or Move Down until the property is in the position you want. |
Remove |
Click to move the assigned product properties to the Available Properties box. Note:
You cannot remove the assigned properties that are highlighted in blue. These properties have the Assign to all product types attribute.
