How to Perform an Advanced Search

You can perform advanced searches in the Catalog Manager, Marketing Manager, or Customer and Orders Manager. You perform an advanced search by using expressions in the Expression Builder.

  1. Open the Business Management Application that you want to search, for example, Catalog Manager, Marketing Manager, or Customer and Orders Manager.

  2. In the Business Management Application, in the Views pane, click the area that you want to search, and then click Search on the toolbar.

  3. In the Search screen, on the Advanced tab, do the following:

    Look in

    (available only with orders, profiles, catalogs, inventory catalogs, and campaigns)

    Select where you want to search from the drop-down list.

    Look for

    (available only with catalogs)

    Select what you want to search for from the drop-down list. You can search all products, a category, or a product.

  4. In the Expression Builder, do the following:

    Use this

    To do this

    And/Or

    Click to add an additional And/Or condition to the expression.

    Field

    Select the name of the catalog field that you want to use for this search from the drop-down list.

    Condition

    Select an operator type for the expression from the drop-down list. Conditions include the following:

    • Is equal to

    • Is not equal to

    • Contains

    • Does not contains

    • Begins with

    • Does not begin with

    Value

    Type a value to use for the search.

    You cannot use wild card characters on the Advanced tab. If you want functionality that is similar to wild card searches, you can use the Contains or Begins with operators. The Is not equal to and Does not contain operators return rows that have NULL values in them.
  5. Click Find.

    The results of the advanced search appear in the Search Results pane.
