PivotCharts

A PivotChart is an interactive chart used to display a dynamic report. The Chart Type button button displays your dynamic report as one of the many types of charts available in Commerce Server 2002.

Each Commerce Server 2002 dynamic report definition is assigned a default chart format, but you can choose different chart formats to meet your needs. You use the PivotChart Field List to add dimensions and measures to a PivotChart.

The following figure shows the screen elements of a PivotChart in the Usage Summary by Day of Week report.

  • The preceding figure shows a PivotChart for a report that is available only in Commerce Server 2002 Enterprise Edition.

The PivotChart shows all the measures in the current PivotTable view. If the PivotChart becomes too crowded to view, try removing some measures, collapsing some dimensions, or adding a filter dimension.

The PivotChart supports many chart formats, which can be viewed and selected by clicking Chart Type button on the PivotChart.

  • The chart is only connected to the pivot if the report displays a chart or if the operator presses the "Show Chart" button, because some large reports take a long time to render for the first time.
