Selecting Catalog Properties for Import

You use Business Desk to select which catalog properties are to be imported into the Data Warehouse.

To select catalog properties to be imported into the Data Warehouse

1. In Catalogs, click Catalog Definition Designer.
2. In the Catalog Definition Designer screen, click on the toolbar, and then select Property Definition from the drop-down list.
3. In the Property Definitions screen, select the property you want to import into the Data Warehouse, and then click on the toolbar.
4. In the Property Definitions - <Property Name>** screen, select Store data for analysis.
5. To save your changes and return to the Catalog Definition Designer screen, click on the toolbar.
6. To publish your changes to your Web site, click CatalogEditor, and then click on the toolbar.

Data for this catalog property will be collected in the Commerce Server database.

Notes

• You cannot change the name or type of property in a catalog definition. You can delete the property, and then add it again using a new name and type.
• To extend the Data Warehouse schema so you can import different types of data, you must use Commerce Server 2002 Enterprise Edition. This functionality is not available in Commerce Server 2002 Standard Edition.
