Lesson 4: Creating a Virtual Catalog
Scenario: You want your customers to be able to conveniently view and purchase products from both the Camping Maps and Adventure Works catalogs. To do this, you create a virtual catalog that contains both catalogs. By creating a virtual catalog, you will be able to keep the original catalogs as subsets so that you can offer special discounts for each catalog separately. In this tutorial, when you add a product to the Camping Maps base catalog, the product will also appear in the associated virtual catalog because of the type of inclusion rule you apply.
In this lesson you will create a virtual catalog and add your two base catalogs to the virtual catalog. You will also set currency and pricing rules.
In this lesson, you will perform the following steps:
- Step 1: Creating a new virtual catalog
- Step 2: Including base catalogs in your virtual catalog
- Step 3: Rebuilding your Maps & Camping virtual catalog
- Step 4: Adding price rules to your Maps & Camping catalog
- Step 5: Adding a new category to your Camping Maps catalog
- Step 6: Adding new products to the Camping Maps catalog
- Step 7: Adding another product to the Camping Maps catalog
- Step 8: Verifying your changes on the Retail site
