Editing Data Code Properties

You can view the properties of a selected data code and edit those properties. However, you cannot edit the actual number for the code. For more information about deleting data codes, see Managing Data Codes and Tax Rates.

  • If you inadvertently change a data code, to fix your mistake, you need to assign the changed data code a number that is not being used by an existing data code, and then add the old data code number back, replacing the one you added by mistake.

To edit data code properties

  1. In Orders, click Data Codes.

  2. In the Order Status Codes screen, click View on the toolbar, and then select the type of data code you want to view from the drop-down list.

  3. Select the data code that you want to edit, and then click Open on the toolbar.

  4. In the <data code> screen, edit the data code properties, and then click Save and go back on the toolbar.

The edited data code is saved.

  • After you edit a data code, your system administrator must unload the Commerce Server application from memory on each Web server in order for the change to take effect. For more information, see "Unloading an Application from Memory" in Commerce Server 2000 Help.

  • You must also contact your system administrator to implement any changes to the data codes on to your Web site
