Deleting the Data Warehouse Resource

The Data Warehouse Configurator (DWC) unpacks two resources that require databases. These resources are Data Warehouse and Business Desk Permissions.

The Data Warehouse Configurator sets up both resources to the same database. By default the database is named <site name>_dw. This means that both Data Warehouse and Business Desk Permissions store data and stored procedures in <site_name>_dw.

If you delete the Data Warehouse resource and decide to delete the <site name>_dw database, you must also delete the Business Desk Permission resource because the database contains stored procedures for the Business Desk Permissions resource.

After you delete <site_name>_dw, you must recreate a database to associate it with Business Desk Permission. To recreate Business Desk Permission, you can remove and add the Business Desk Permission resource using Commerce Server Manager.

  • When you remove the <site_name>_dw database, you will lose data. You must backup your database before removing it.
