Configuring App Default Config Resource Properties

The App Default Config resource has properties that affect the functionality of your site and Commerce Server Business Desk. For example, you use the App Default Config properties to specify the currencies you support, and to specify payment optionswhen you set up Commerce Server to integrate with Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000.

To configure the App Default Config resource

  1. Expand Commerce Server Manager, expand Commerce Sites, and then expand the site you want to administer.

  2. Right-click App Default Config, and then click Properties.

  3. In the Properties tab, do the following:

    Use this To do this
    Add item redirect options Specify the site functionality that occurs after a user adds an item to the basket. Type 1 to continue displaying the current product page; type 0 to redirect to the basket page.
    Address Book Options Specify whether the site supports an address book feature.

    Type 0 to disable the address book.

    Type 1 to make the address book read-only. If you have a predefined address book, you may want to choose this option.

    Type 2 to make the address book read/write, so that users can add and change addresses.

    AuthManager Auth Ticket Timeout Type the number of minutes after which the ticket times out. This property is used only if you are developing your site based on a Commerce Server Solution Site.
    BizTalk Catalog Doc Type Type the document definition name that is required by BizTalk Server for catalogs (for example, CatalogTransferDoc).
    BizTalk Options Type 1 to enable integration with BizTalk Server to exchange documents; type 0 to disable integration.
    BizTalk PO Doc Type Type the document definition name that is required by BizTalk Server for purchase orders (for example, PurchaseOrder).
    BizTalk Source Org Qualifier Type the alias qualifier for this site in BizTalk Server (for example, MyCompany).
    BizTalk Source Org Qualifier Value Type the alias value for this site in BizTalk Server (for example, Sender).
    BizTalk Submit type Type 1 to submit documents to BizTalk Server asynchronously.
    Cookie Path Correction Options Type 1 to enable application-based correction; type 2 to enable filter-based correction.
    Currency: Alternate currency code Type the ISO 4217 code for the alternate currency.
    Currency: Alternate currency conversion rate Type the rate used to convert between the base and alternate currency.
    Currency: Alternate currency locale Type the locale for the alternate currency (1031 = German, 1033 = English, 1034 = Spanish, 1036 = French, 1041 = Japanese).
    Currency: Alternate currency options Type 1 to display two currencies simultaneously; type 0 to disable this feature.
    Currency: Alternate currency symbol If you are using an alternate currency, enter its symbol.
    Currency: Base currency code Type the ISO 4217 code for the base currency.
    Currency: Base currency locale Type the locale for the base currency (1031 = German, 1033 = English, 1034 = Spanish, 1036 = French, 1041 = Japanese).
    Currency: Base currency symbol Type the symbol for the base currency.
    Currency display order options If you use an alternate currency, type 0 to display the base currency first; type 1 to display the alternate currency first.
    Delegated admin options Type 1 to enable Partner Services; type 0 to disable it.

    To create a delegated administrator, in the Users module in Commerce Server Business Desk, you must create a user with the Partner service role flag set to "Administrator," and then associate the user with a specific organization.

    Delegated administrators have a Partner Services link on their site. Partner Services enables them to perform certain tasks for their organization, such as managing users and reviewing orders.

    Form login options Type one of the following to specify when users are required to log in to your site:

    0 = Disable login. Users can enter the site only as a guest.

    1 = Required when a user enters the site.

    2 = Optional when a user enters the site.

    5 = Required at the time of purchase.

    6 = Optional any time.

    7 = Require IIS authentication.

    This property is used only if you are developing your site based on a Commerce Server Solution Site.

    Host Name Correction Options Type 1 to enable host name correction; type 0 to disable this feature.
    Page encoding charset Specify the document encoding character set for the site, for example, Windows - 1252.
    Payment options Type 1 if users will pay for their orders using a credit card; type 4 if users will have their accounts billed; type 5 to support both options.
    Site default locale Type the locale for this site (1031 = German, 1033 = English, 1034 = Spanish, 1036 = French, 1041 = Japanese).
    Site privacy options Type 1 to profile anonymous users; type 2 to profile and track anonymous user visits.

    This property is used only if you are developing your site based on a Commerce Server Solution Site.

    Site registration options Type 1 to enable self-registration; type 2 to disable this feature. This property is used only if you are developing your site based on a Commerce Server Solution Site.
    Site ticket options Type 1 to place the user ticket in the URL; type 2 to place the user ticket in the cookie. This property is used only if you are developing your site based on a Commerce Server Solution Site.
    SMTP server name Type the computer name of the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server.
    Unit of Measure for Weight The unit of measure for calculating product shipping costs.
  4. In the Connection Strings tab, click Modify to specify the connection string to the BizTalk Interchange Manager database, which stores messages sent from Commerce Server.

  5. Click OK.

  • After you change a property value in Commerce Server Manager, you must unload the IIS applications in the site from memory on each Web server in order for the change to take effect. For instructions, see Unloading an Application from Memory.
