Database Connection Strings Dialog Box

The following table shows the options and functions available in the Database Connection Strings dialog box. This dialog box is displayed when you use Commerce Server Site Packager.

Use this To do this
Resource Select the resource on which you want to perform an action, such as changing a database server.
Modify Specify a different server or database for a resource.
Defaults Return your connection strings to the default settings, which consist of two databases (one for Data Warehouse and one for the other resources) stored locally.
Copy Copy the database connection string of the selected resource to the Clipboard.

  • To copy a database connection string, select the row that contains the connection string you want to copy, and then click Modify. In the Data Link Properties dialog box, select or type the server and database name(s) you want to copy, and then click OK. In the Database Connection Strings dialog box, reselect the row that contains the connection string you want to copy, and then click Copy.
Paste Paste the selected resources from the Clipboard.

  • To paste a database connection string from the Clipboard, select the row(s) to which you want to copy the connection string, and then click Paste.
New Database Create a new database for the selected resource(s). Use this command if you want to put the database on a different computer.
