Step 5: Create an Ad Campaign

In Commerce Server 2002, Ad Campaigns can be targeted using the Content Selection Framework (CSF). Each Ad has a need of delivery based upon the number of impressions, the number of days to deliver them, and a relative weighting against other ads before they are displayed to the user visiting your Web site. You can set ads to be house ads so that the ads are rotated on your Web site on an "as possible" basis, which minimizes the impact on paying ads on your site through your business partners.

In this step, you will create a new ad campaign and then create a new house ad for Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 and Visual Studio .NET.

For house ads the weight is relative to all other house ads for all customers and all campaigns. For paid ads, the weight is relative to other paid ads in the same campaign. The weight of an individual campaign item is relative to the weight of all the other campaign items.
