Developing an International Site

Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 provides functionality to ease the process of internationalizing your Web site. Commerce Server includes features for tracking the language chosen by the user, for maintaining Web site text in multiple languages, and for manipulating date, time, and currency strings for presentation in the language of choice.

This section contains:

  • Starting with an Example Site. Describes quick-start options for developers who are building a new site.
  • Tracking Language Choice. Describes different mechanisms for tracking the language chosen by the user.
  • Localizing Web Site Text. Describes how to present Web site text in the language chosen by the user.
  • Localizing Dates and Times. Describes the Commerce Server objects provided for manipulating date and time strings and values so that they conform to the language chosen by the user.
  • Localizing Currencies. Describes the Commerce Server objects provided for manipulating currency strings and values so that they conform to the language chosen by the user. Also described are strategies for presenting product prices in different currencies.
  • International Site Development Examples. Describes site development tasks and provides sample code for those tasks.
