Sites

A site is a collection of Active Server Page (ASP)-based applications that use Commerce Server COM objects, which in turn use and modify resources. A site provides a means of administering the applications in the site together.

A site typically includes at least two applications: one that users browse to view your online store, and one that business managers use to access Commerce Server Business Desk. In addition, a site may include other applications. For example, a site might include www.alpineskihouse.com, www.alpineskihouse.com/equipment, www.alpineskihouse.com/clothing, and www.alpineskihouse.com/BusinessDesk. All of these applications can be distributed across many servers.

Sites use both global resources, which are shared across multiple sites, and site resources that are defined explicitly for the site.

From a site node in Commerce Server Manager, you can package a site, and add and delete resources.
