Site Packager Error Messages

This section provides information about a few of the error messages that may appear in the Commerce Server Site Packager event log (Pup.log) file when you use Site Packager. This is not a comprehensive list.

Error finding directory for <Application> <Error Number>:<Error Description>

Site Packager encountered an error when searching for the Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 meta-base entries for an application, or for the physical path. This error occurs when the meta-base is pointing to a directory that does not exist, or the meta-base entry for the application has been deleted. This error occurs only during packaging.

Error finding IIS object for <Application name>:<Error Description>

Site Packager encountered an error when accessing the IIS settings for <Application name>. Either the meta-base is corrupt, or the application points to a virtual directory that does not exist. Verify that the applications in the package point to a virtual directory that actually exists.

Error importing URL for <Application name> <Error Number>:<Error Description>

Site Packager encountered an error when creating a virtual directory for the application, or when copying application files to a folder. Make sure you have administrative privileges to change IIS settings.

Error exporting object data for <Resource name> to file <Filename> <Error Number>:<Error Description>

Site Packager encountered an error when exporting the data for a resource or application. Either the data does not exist or some automation error has occurred. This error message occurs only during packaging.

Error importing object data for <Resource name> from file <Filename> <Error Number>:<Error Description>

Site Packager encountered an error when importing the data for a resource or application. Either the data was corrupt or some automation error has occurred. This error message occurs only during unpacking.

Error creating ref resource <Reference resource> for <Global resource> <Error Number>:<Error Description>

Site Packager encountered an error when creating a global resource pointer for the named global resource. After you identify the problem and fix it, run Site Packager again, using Custom mode to add the resource to an existing application.
