Specified path does not exist error appears when unpacking a site

When you attempt to unpack a site, you get the following error:

"The specified path does not exist. Check the path, and then try again."

This error can occur when you try to unpack a site into a folder that contains special characters. For example, Commerce Server Site Packager will not unpack to a folder named My commerce $$%.

Although you can install Commerce Server into a folder that contains special characters, you cannot unpack a site to such a folder.

Solution

Copy the package to a different directory, and then unpack it.
