Pricing a Product in a Virtual Catalog

After you have included products and categories from a base catalog, and rebuilt the virtual catalog, you can price the products in the virtual catalog. To price a product in a virtual catalog, you apply a price rule.

Rebuilding the virtual catalog makes the categories and products in the associated base catalogs available so you can apply price rules. After completing the Include / exclude section, click and then, in the Catalogs screen, click on the toolbar.
A virtual catalog can support up to 10,000 price rules.

To price a product in a virtual catalog

In Catalogs, click Catalog Editor.
In the Catalogs screen, select the virtual catalog that contains the product you want to price, and then click on the toolbar.

In the Catalog Content - <Catalog Name> (product) screen, in the Price rules section, click New, and then do the following:

Item	Click the ellipsis button […] to display the Product Picker dialog box. Select the categories or products to which you want to apply the price rule, and then click OK.
Type	Select from the drop-down list one of the following: Set price to specify the price of the item. Add to specify the amount to add to the base price of the item. Add percentage to specify the percentage to add to the base price of the item. Discount to specify the amount to discount the base price of the item. Discount percentage to specify the percentage to discount the base price of the item.
Amount	Specify the amount you want the price to be, or the amount you want to modify the price from the base catalog.

To return to the Catalogs screen, click on the toolbar.
To apply the updated pricing to your Web site, click on the toolbar.

The updated catalog is published on your Web site.
