Update-ServicePlan

Use the Update-ServicePlan cmdlet to update tenant organizations from one service plan offering to another service plan offering, or when you update service plan features.

Detailed Description

This cmdlet runs in two modes. One mode allows you to update the service plan and update the mailboxes with the new features. The other mode, which runs with the ConfigOnly switch, updates only the service plan's configuration.

Parameters

The Identity parameter specifies the name of the tenant organization.

OfferId

The OfferId parameter specifies the OfferId associated with the service plan being changed.

ProgramId

The ProgramId parameter specifies the ProgramId of the plan being changed.

ConfigOnly

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

The ConfigOnly parameter specifies that only the service plan configuration will be updated.

Confirm

Optional

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

The Confirm switch can be used to suppress the confirmation prompt that appears by default when this cmdlet is run. To suppress the confirmation prompt, use the syntax -Confirm:$False. You must include a colon ( : ) in the syntax.

Conservative

Optional

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

This parameter is reserved for internal Microsoft use.

DomainController

Optional

Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Fqdn

The DomainController parameter specifies the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the domain controller that writes this configuration change to Active Directory.

EnableFileLogging

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

The EnableFileLogging parameter specifies that file logging is enabled when this command is run.

IsDatacenter

This parameter is reserved for internal Microsoft use.

IsPartnerHosted

WhatIf

Optional

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

The WhatIf switch instructs the command to simulate the actions that it would take on the object. By using the WhatIf switch, you can view what changes would occur without having to apply any of those changes. You don't have to specify a value with the WhatIf switch.

Input Types

To see the input types that this cmdlet accepts, see Cmdlet Input and Output Types. If the Input Type field for a cmdlet is blank, the cmdlet doesn’t accept input data.

Return Types

To see the return types, which are also known as output types, that this cmdlet accepts, see Cmdlet Input and Output Types. If the Output Type field is blank, the cmdlet doesn’t return data.

EXAMPLE 1

This example updates the service plan for the Contoso tenant organization. The cmdlet also tracks the changes made by enabling file logging.

Update-ServicePlan -Identity Contoso -EnableFileLogging

EXAMPLE 2

This example updates only the configuration for the service plan for the Humongous Insurance tenant organization. Tenant users aren't updated.

Update-ServicePlan -Identity "Humongous Insurance" -ConfigOnly
