Guidance for Deploying SharePoint 2010 Commerce Solution and Content

This section contains information intended as guidance to help information technology professionals with the deployment of custom Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 R2 solutions into Microsoft SharePoint 2010 environments.

Each Commerce Server 2009 R2 deployment is unique, based on the solution requirements and specific deployment environments. As a result of this uniqueness, all tasks and procedures contained in this section are provided as guidance only. This information is meant as guidance to help you create custom deployment scripts specific to your commerce solution. This information is based on prepackaged scripts and samples used to deploy the SharePoint 2010 Solution Storefront. The guidance is provided to help you use the prepackaged samples as a starting point to create your own deployment solution.

Prerequisites

• This guidance information is intended for IT pros that are familiar with all aspects of SharePoint 2010 solution deployment.

• Before you perform any deployment activities, make sure to consider security requirements specific to your Commerce Server 2009 R2 network configuration and topology. Make sure to apply the latest security hotfixes for Microsoft SharePoint 2010. See

• This information assumes you have the sample deployment scripts and .WSP files prepackaged with Commerce Server 2009 R2 software. Deployment scripts and configuration examples provided in this documentation are based on these prepackaged samples. The sample scripts are developed to deploy SharePoint 2010 Solution Storefront in a two-tier or a three-tier configuration and are provided as job aids only. The sample scripts provide a starting point and must be modified to suit your specific commerce deployment and environment.  You can install the sample deployment scripts during setup.
