ServerBCPKeepNulls Property

This feature will be removed in a future version of Microsoft SQL Server. Avoid using this feature in new development work, and plan to modify applications that currently use this feature.

The ServerBCPKeepNulls property controls the handling of missing values for all columns that accept NULL and possess a default value constraint when importing data.

Syntax

object
.ServerBCPKeepNulls [= value]

Parts

  • object
    An expression that evaluates to an object in the Applies To list
  • value
    TRUE or FALSE

Data Type

Boolean

Modifiable

Read/write

Prototype (C/C++)

HRESULT GetServerBCPKeepNulls(LPBOOL pRetVal);
HRESULT SetServerBCPKeepNulls(BOOL NewValue);

Remarks

If TRUE, NULL is inserted when missing values are encountered in the data file. The default constraint does not supply a value for the column.

If FALSE, the default constraint provides a value for any missing values encountered in the data file. FALSE is the default value.

The ServerBCPKeepNulls property is interpreted only when data is imported and if the UseServerSideBCP property of the BulkCopy object is TRUE.

Applies To:
