DefaultFileGroup Element (ADF)

Specifies one of the NamedFileGroup entries to be used as the default filegroup when creating Microsoft SQL Server objects for this application.

Syntax

<Application>
    ...
    <Database>
        ...
        <DefaultFileGroup>

Element Characteristics

Characteristic Description

Data type

string, between 0 and 128 characters in length.

Default value

The default filegroup of the SQL Server instance being used.

Occurrence

Optional once per Database element.

Updates

Cannot be added, deleted, or modified when updating the application.

Example

The following example shows a DefaultFileGroup element naming the Secondary filegroup (previously defined in a FileGroupName element) as the default filegroup for the application.
