How to Create a Payment Method

You create a new payment method by using Commerce Server Customer and Orders Manager. You can create payment methods in several different languages. After you create the new payment method, you must refresh the site cache for the payment method to appear on the Web site.

To create a payment method

  1. Click Start, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 , and then click Customer and Orders Manager.

  2. In Commerce Server Customer and Orders Manager, in the Views pane, click Payment Methods.

  3. In the Tasks pane, click Create New Payment Method.

  4. In the Create New Payment Method screen, on the Properties tab, do the following:

    Enabled

    Select Yes to activate the payment method or No to deactivate the payment method from the drop-down list.

    Enabled indicates that the payment method will display on the site as a method of payment.

    Date created

    View the system-assigned date when you created the payment method.

    You cannot edit this box.

    Last modified

    View the system-assigned date when you last modified the payment method.

    You cannot edit this box.

    Payment type

    Select the payment type from the drop-down list.

    Pipeline Name

    Type the pipeline name.

    See your site developer for the pipeline name.

    Group ID

    View the GUID assigned by the system to group same payment methods in different languages.

    You cannot edit this box.

    Add

    Click to add a new line to the payment methods table.

    Delete

    Click to delete the selected line(s) from the payment methods table.

  5. Click Save and Close on the toolbar to save the new payment method.

To create a payment method that uses a different language

  1. Follow the steps to create a payment method that were discussed earlier.

  2. In the Payment Method pane, do the following:

    Use this

    Default Language

    Select this check box to make this the default language for the payment method.

    Language

    Select the language to use for this payment method from the drop-down list.

    Name

    Type the display name of the payment method in the language selected.

    Description

    Type the description of the payment method in the language selected.

    Add

    Click to add a new line to the payment methods table.

    Delete

    Click to delete the selected line(s) from the payment methods table.

  3. Click Save and Close on the toolbar to save the new payment method.

To refresh the site cache

  1. Click Start, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 , and then click Customer and Orders Manager.

  2. In Commerce Server Customer and Orders Manager, in the Views pane, click Payment Methods.

  3. In the Tasks pane, click Refresh Site Cache.
