Accessing the Internal Web Site

You can access Internal Web site by using of one of following methods. The method you choose depends on whether you are accessing the internal Web site from the server, a client computer that is connected to the Windows SBS 2008 network, or a remote computer.

Access Internal Web site from the server

Note

You must be a network administrator to complete this procedure.

To access Internal Web site from the server

  1. Open the Windows SBS Console.

  2. On the navigation bar, click Shared Folders and Web Sites, and then click Web Sites.

  3. In the Internal Web site Tasks task pane, click Browse this Web site.

To open the Windows SBS Console, click Start, click All Programs, click Windows Small Business Server, click Windows SBS Console, and then click Continue in the User Account Control dialog box.

Access Internal Web site from a client computer

To access Internal Web site from a client computer in the network using Internet Explorer

  1. From the client computer, open Internet Explorer.

  2. In the Internet browser address bar, type https://companyweb.

Access Internal Web site from a remote computer

To access Internal Web site from a remote computer using Internet explorer

  1. From the remote computer, open Internet Explorer.

  2. In the Internet browser address bar, type **https://remote.**DomainName (where DomainName is the external domain name of your organization, such as contoso.com).

If you do not have a trusted certificate installed on the computer that you are using to access Remote Web Workplace, you will receive an error message that says "There is a problem with this website’s security certificate." To resolve this error, you can install a self-issued certificate on the computer. For detailed information about installing the self-signed certificate on a computer, open your organization’s Internal Web site, and then under Announcements, click Install the server’s security certificate on your remote computer.

  1. Log on to Remote Web Workplace using your network credentials.

  2. On the Remote Web Workplace home page, click Internal Web site.
