Microsoft Virtual Academy: Configure & Deploy Private Cloud Infrastructure with System Center 2012 SP1 - Part 3 - Expansion
In this module you will see how System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1) has been enhanced to support Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012 through simplified configuration and deployment of the private cloud infrastructure. You will learn about the concepts of abstraction, heterogeneity and control which allows you to have standardized services, delegated capacity, cloud abstraction, with a standardized and yet diverse infrastructure.
Private Cloud concepts that will be covered include the logical grouping resources into clouds, the virtualization of most of the physical infrastructure components, delegating access and resource utilization across clouds, and how to consume capacity beyond your datacenter by taking advantage of 3rd party service providers and Windows Azure. Next you will learn about virtualization enhancements such as service templates, the service designer, deployment previews, and the self-service portal. Finally we will show you how to take advantage of your heterogeneous datacenter through support for multiple hypervisors from Microsoft, VMware, and Citrix and how to deploy and configure Linux guest VMs.
