When you delete a quota template, the template is removed from the configuration database, but any site collection that was created by using that template retains the quota values. If you want to remove quotas from all the sites that use a particular quota template, you must use the object model. For more information about how to use the Windows SharePoint Services object model, see Windows SharePoint Services Software Development Kit.

After removing the quota template, all the sites that use this template retain the settings of this quota template. The current quota template for the sites that was created by using the deleted template appears as an individual template. You can view this from the Site collection quotas and locks link.

To access the Site collection quotas and locks link:

  • On the home page of the SharePoint Central Administration Web site, click Application Management.

  • In the SharePoint Site Management section, click Site collection quotas and locks.

You must be a member of the Farm Administrators group to delete a quota template.
