This topic describes how to enable new counters for the MSExchange ADAccess Local Site Domain Controllers performance monitor object after you install Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 (SP3).

Exchange 2007 SP3 includes new performance counters for the MSExchange ADAccess Local Site Domain Controllers performance monitor object. The new performance counters enable administrators to set different alert thresholds for local domain controllers. This is in addition to the alert thresholds that can already be set for remote domain controllers. However, the new counters for local domain controllers must be enabled before they can be used.

To enable the counters

  1. After Exchange 2007 SP3 is installed, open a Command Prompt window.

  2. At the command prompt, type the following commands, and press ENTER after each command:

    cd “<DriveLetter>:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Bin\perf\AMD64”

    unlodctr “MSExchange ADAccess”

    lodctr dscperf.ini

  3. Restart the computer.
