Q:
We are trying to access Business Desk on Win2003 Server from a remote computer (XP). Our SQL and Analysis Servers are on the third Win 2003 computer. There is no firewall issue between the computers and. But the remote access to the Biz Desk failed. We
A: Phyu, are you receiving an error when trying to open the bizdesk or when trying to access one of the modules within the bizdesk? If so, what is the error?

CharlesT (Expert):
Q:
The error was received when we tried to run Analysis modules...
A: Do you have the actual error? That will be helpful in knowing is it a possible permission or network access issue or maybe some other problem.

CharlesT (Expert):
Q:
I installed 'sweet forgiveness' site on commerce server 2000 and it worked perfectly. But when I do it on commerce server 2002 with FP1, it does not work. Is this site only for commerce server 2000?
A: Megh, the Sweet Forgiveness site was designed and tested only for Commerce Server 2000.

CharlesT (Expert):
Q:
The error I received was something like "project_dw" not found ... but "project_dw" exists and i could see it under SQL and Analysis Servers...
A: Phyu, based on your error description it sounds like the client machine was unable to access or logon to the Analysis/OLAP server. A networ trace from the client machine should show more details to see if problem is access or permissions. Also, was there an error logged in the event logs?

Q:
If Retail site of 2000 works, can 'sweet forgiveness' work on CS 2k2? Can you name some sample site for CS 2K2??
A: Sweet forgiveness wasn't explicitly tested, but it should work. Follow the upgrade guide link I sent you earlier. With CS2002, the focus of the sample sites was switched so ASP.Net. The Starter Site provides a tested solution for building ASP.Net sites on CS2002.

Henry Winkler (Expert):
Q:
So you mean I have 'sweet..' site on Cs 2000, then follow the guide and upgrade it to CS 2k2? Or Shall i try Retail site? Or freshly CS2002 starter site?
A: I would try to take your installed "sweet forgiveness" site, follow the guide and upgrade to CS2k2 and see what happens.

CharlesT (Expert):
Q:
Are there any documents related to setting up bizdesk in a windows 2003 environemnt, specifically related to kerberos setup?
A: There are not any specific documents related to BizDesk on Windows Server 2003, however an article that many customers are referred to for Kerberos setup is 319723 "Information about SQL Server 2000 Kerberos support"

Henry Winkler (Expert):
Q:
Is there any easy way out to test our pipeline COM component (for credit card validation) on commerce server 2002 sample site? I mean any sampel VB or VC program or anything?
A: You should be able to use the Starter Site to test out your component.

Henry Winkler (Expert):
Q:
Starter site 2002 works on commerce server 2002 developer edition or commerce server 2002 trial version?
A: It should work on either version. It requires either SP3 or FP1.

**Darrylw (Expert):
**In order to configure Bizdesk with Windows server, please refer to the following article: Deploying Commerce Server Using Windows Authentication https://msdn2.microsoft.com/library/ms954169.aspx

CharlesT (Expert):
Q:
I have seen starter site 2002 installation guide at your site. But is there any easy way to test the component on purchase.pcf without using starter site?
A: If you are looking to just test your component you could use your existing Commerce Server 2000 site or another sample site such as the Retail site from Commerce Server 2000.

CharlesT (Expert):
Q:
I find problem in running starter site 2002 on commerce server 2K2. 'adventure works' site opens but it fails on 'view cart' link
A: Megh, when it fails, what is the error you are receiving?/p>

Henry Winkler (Expert):
Q:
But I want to test it on commerce server 2002. On 2000, it works fine. Is installing 'starter site 2002' is the only solution?
A: Have you tried to just upgrade your existing your existing site to CS2002 and just run it to see what happens?

CharlesT (Expert):
Q:
But I want to test it on commerce server 2002. On 2000, it works fine. Is installing 'starter site 2002' is the only solution?
A: The CS2002 Starter Site is not the only solution, but it is the preferred solution to build new sites on. On Commerce Server 2002 you can run sites based on either ASP or ASP.NET. So you can use the ASP based Retail sample site from Commerce Server 2000 or one of the sites available with/for Commerce Server 2002.

Henry Winkler (Expert):
Q:
Will 'sweet forgiveness' work if i upgrade my m/c from CS 2K to CS 2K2? Any idea?
A: The CS2002 Upgrade guide is the best reference to walk you through the process of taking a CS2000 site to CS2002. https://www.microsoft.com/commerceserver/techinfo/productdoc/2002/upgrade_guide.htm

I have a question about refactoring in Visual Studio 2005 C# Express. Right-click menu only provides Rename and Extrat Method. But the snippets manager shows more refactoring in terms of snippets. Is there any way to use these refactoring snippets?
