Microsoft’s evolving cloud strategy

Thousands of tech professionals have descended on New Orleans for TechEd 2013. The show is underway and there has been a lot of buzz about Microsoft’s cloud strategy and new product updates – including Windows Server 2012 R2. So we’re bringing you a special edition of TechNet Flash to cover all this fresh information.

To coincide with the first day of TechEd, the official Microsoft blog has a post by Satya Nadella, President of the Server & Tools Business at Microsoft, on the company’s position leading the enterprise cloud era. In a video, Satya Nadella further details Microsoft’s cloud-first approach, which represents a major shift in the way Microsoft develops and delivers products. Also be sure to check out this in-depth look at Microsoft’s cloud OS vision.

Besides the high-level discussions about cloud strategy, we also have a lot of product-specific announcements. Microsoft has announced Windows Server 2012 R2, which is currently in preview. Find out how this release will deliver enhancements for virtualization, storage, networking, and more. A new Windows Azure Pack has been announced, which will allow you to run Windows Azure technologies in your datacenter.
