Welcome to the material supporting page for this session. The materials on this page have been selected as the best matches to the content covered in the live event session.
Session Outline
In this session, we will look at the new configuration system in IIS 7.0. We will look at how IIS 7.0 configuration has been improved through the use of a file based hierarchical configuration system giving you much greater flexibility in configuring IIS 7.0 over earlier versions of IIS. We will cover a number of interesting topics showing how you can delegate the administration of server, Web site and Web application settings to non administrator users. We will see how you can control the delegation of these settings so that only the settings that you wish other users to modify are available to them. Finally, we will take a look at the new IIS manager and the new managed API that it is built on. We will see how you can use the IIS manager to carry out IIS 7.0 administration tasks from a graphical user interface. The managed API that IIS manager is built upon can be used by you in your applications to manage and control the IIS 7.0 server and Web sites programmatically.
