| Demo: Understanding User Roles
In this demonstration, we show how to create a new user role in Operations Manager 2007. We begin by creating a user role named IT Department and defining the role with access to all areas of the console. Next, we will create a Human Resources role that limits what users assigned that role are able to do by restricting their view to Microsoft Windows Clients. Once we have created the new user roles, we will open the Operations Console as users that have been assigned each of the respective roles and explore the results. Download |
| Demo: Creating a Whoami Task
In this demonstration, we create a RunAs task in Operations Manager 2007 that runs the whoami command. The runas task is designed for one-time, ad-hoc usage scenarios. Download |
| Demo: Exploring RunAs Execution
In this demonstration, we will test the new whoami task that we created in the previous demonstration. We will first run this task with the default credentials to see what security credentials it runs under by default. Then we will run it again, specifying credentials. We will then create a runas profile. Download |
| Demo: Exploring Management Groups
In this demonstration, we show how to connect two management groups. The connected management groups use the new tiering feature in Operations Manager 2007. Download |
